A ROMAN TRANSLUCENT GLASS JAR
4TH CENTURY A.D.
With slightly everted cut-off rim, faint wheel-cut band below rim, the vertical sides decorated with three large applied blue blobs and three sets of smaller triple blue blobs; a translucent glass jar with 'collar', the body with applied turquoise zigzag trail and twin folded handles attached to the rim and shoulder, 4th-5th Century A.D., both 3.3/8 in. (8.6 cm.) high; a colourless glass stemmed chalice on circular foot, the deep bowl with fluted tongues and wide plain band below the rim, repaired, 5th-6th Century A.D., 4.1/8 in. (10.4 cm.) high; and a pale blue glass 'pillar'-moulded bowl, iridescent, small chips to rim, late 1st Century B.C./1st Century A.D., 4¼ in. (10.6 cm.) diam. (4)
