A pair of Shibayama style wood and ivory tusk vases
modelled as caparisoned elephants striding forwards, inlaid in mother of pearl with birds among blossoming branches and clusters of flowers, the saddle cloths decorated with chrysanthemum sprays, set on oval stands -- 10¾in. (27.2cms) high, (areas of inlay missing, some damages and repair).
