A Dutch burr-elm longcase clock

The case overall inlaid with ebonised lines, rectangular plinth with shaped canted angles, rectangular trunk door with hollowed corners, glazed lenticle with gilt-metal mount depicting Europa and the bull, the hood with pilasters with Corinthian capitals, sound frets to the frieze and sides, the concave-moulded caddy top with later figure of Atlas and two herald figures, the dial signed Willem Koster Amsteldam on the silvered chapter ring, pierced black painted steel hands, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring and decorated calendar aperture, month and weekday sectors, central alarm disc, moonphase in the arch, above engraved semi-circular discs depicting day and night and inscribed TEMPUS.FUGIT, pierced foliate spandrels, the eight-day four pillar movement with anchor escapement strike on two bells, restorations and adaptions
