The insect with tapering diamond-set body between outstretched greenish-blue plique-à-jour enamel wings edged in rose-cut diamonds, the translucent green enamel head with diamond and rose-cut diamond detail above four chased gold legs, with lozenge maker's mark and French control marks, 12cm. wide, in original fitted case with retailer's address A. Ecalle, 19 Bould. de la Madeleine, Paris, the cover with intials M.M.
