AN ETRUSCAN TERRACOTTA FUNERARY URN AND LID
circa 3rd-2nd century b.c.
The urn molded with a facing winged human head wearing a Phrygian cap, with fillets extending to either side below the outstretched wings, and foliate decoration extending in similar fashion below, the panel framed by a pilaster on either end and a band of dentils above, the lid with a reclining male figure, the deceased, leaning on a pillow with the form of his body visible under the drapery
