A GEORGE III SILVER COVERED CHAFING DISH ON STAND WITH LAMP
Maker's mark of R. Garrard, London, 1805; the burner by another, 1812
The circular dish with two reeded and paterae decorated loop handles, with gadrooned rim, the partly low domed cover engraved with two crests, one repeated on burner cover, the dish cover topped by bone button finial, the two circular reeded frames joined by three scroll supports, centering burner frame and detachable lamp, dish over handles--14in. (35.5cm.) long, gross weight 66oz.
