Lot Essay

The maker's stamp found on this small table was that used by Pierre Hache (1705-1776) and which continued to be used by his son, Jean-Franois Hache (1730-1796). The full stamp HACHE A GRENOBLE was also used by both father and son, and consisted of two separate irons. Jean-Franois added FILS to the stamp in around 1754, employing a third iron.
