The molded cornice above two pairs of glazed doors with scrolled and geometric brass mullions incorporating foliate sprays, the base with secretaire drawer fitted with various drawers, mounted with lion mask and ring pulls, over a pair of panelled doors, flanked by a further pair of similar panelled cabinet doors on a plinth

Lot Essay

A pair of harewood bookcases with identical brass glazing bars was sold from the collection of Mrs. J.W. Griffith, Sotheby's New York, 15 October 1993, lot 478. A secretaire-bookcase which had belonged to the Empress Maria Feodorovna, wife of Alexander III of Russia (d.1884), with similar glazing bars was sold Sotheby's London, 28 February 1986, lot 82.
