AN AMERICAN AESTETIC MOVEMENT ORMOLU AND PORCELAIN MOUNTED PARCEL-GILT ROSEWOOD CENTER TABLE
Circa 1865, attributed to Pottier and Stymus
With an ormolu moulded rectangular top with cut-out corners inset into a similarly shaped liver and grey marble above a conforming shaped frieze incised with stylized leaf-tips and applied with raised oval plaques cast in relief with frolicking putti and inset at the corners with gilt ground porcelain plaques depicting lions masks on canted turned tapering lightly incised legs and modified block feet and brass casters in a pierced shaped structure centering an urn finial
