4o (208 x 148 mm). Collation: A-I8. 72 leaves, foliated. Roman type. Initial spaces with guide letters. Woodcut cribl title- border, 21 large woodcut anatomical illustrations, and printer's woodcut device below colophon. (Gutter margin repaired affecting inner border slightly, impression light on woodcut illustration on A6r [border redrawn in brown ink], several lines of text on A4r and A5v printed light and relettered in manuscript, minor marginal soiling.) Later vellum. Provenance: Some marginalia in an early hand.

FIRST EDITION. Prepared as a manual for his students, this condensed version of his Commentaria is the work for which Berengario is best known. It includes many of the same woodcuts (hence their occasional light impressions) and some additional observations, including a description of the valves of the heart.
