4o (210 x 150 mm). Woodcut portrait of Paracelsus on title, repeated on *2v, portrait of Wimpineus on *3r. (Title tipped in along gutter margin, some marginal dampstaining and soiling, ink smudged slightly on some leaves at end.) Late 18th-century speckled boards.
Second Munich edition. The first edition was published in Cracow in 1569. Two editions were published in Basel the following year, as were two in Munich, and one each in Cologne and Strassburg. "Paracelsus's reputationas a founder of chemistry rests on his Archidoxa, which contains the greater part of his chemical work" (Norman).
