Lot Essay

The series of images of Cookie Mueller, a close friend of Goldin and a cult-hero for many, is one her most touching bodies of work. She traces her life through marriage, motherhood and death. Cookie at Vittorio's Casket, presents her at her husband's casket who has died of AIDS. Two months later Goldin records Cookie in her own casket.
