Marthe et Nono en Japonaises (Marthe and Nono dressed in Japanese Clothes)

Lebasque came to Paris in 1885 and fell quickly into the circles of the Impressionists. He frequently used his two young daughters as models in his paintings as in the present painting in which he poses Marthe and Nono in Japanese costume out doors in a sun-dappled landscape.
