2o (476 x 350 mm). 56 leaves, engraved throughout. Title, frontispiece, 15 tables and indices (printed on rectos only), 40 fine plates probably by Fraois Andriot after designs by Charles Errard. (Some very minor pale spotting, mostly marginal, one plate with some minor browning.) 18th-century Italian vellum. Provenance: J.T.G. Sonneman, Rome (signature dated 1706).

FIRST EDITION OF ONE OF THE FINEST ANATOMY BOOKS FOR ARTISTS. "This large atlas contains forty magnificent full-page engraved plates depicting the human figure in various poses, with and without dissection ... The plates, probably engraved by Franois Andriot after designs by Charles Errard, were intended primarily for the use of painters and sculptors, and they are still considered to be one of the best collections for the use of student artists" (Heirs of Hippocrates).
