A MEISSEN KAKIEMON PLATE
Circa 1730, blue crossed swords mark, impressed E to footrim
Painted in the Kakiemon palette with a winged tiger prowling around a bamboo tree, a stork, a butterfly and scattered flower sprigs, 9.3/8in. (23.8cm.) diam.; together with a Japanese scalloped dish similarly painted with a tiger prowling below bamboo, 7in. (18.3cm.) diam. (2)
