Album containing ninety-seven cartes-de-visite, several with ink/pencil inscriptions and with photographers' printed credit stamp on mount, loosely inserted in pre-cut window mounts which are then inserted in a larger pre-cut window mount, the majority identified in pencil in a later hand on mounts, red velvet covers, front cover with high relief white metal plaque depicting a priestess in classical costume offering a sacrifice, with lions' head corner pieces and outer frame of climbing roses, inner border of separately applied flower heads in white metal and gilt, both covers with gilt metal edges, two gilt clasps, g.e., lge 4to.

A remarkable album containing portraits identified as follows: the Emperor of Solo, Princess Solo, their sons and the Sultan of Djokjo by Woodbury & Page; Dejatch Alamyon, son of King Theodore; Kamchamcha IV, King of Sandwich Islands, Hawaii; Queen Emma of Hawaii; Queen of Tahiti, a view of the King's residence; Sandilli, Chief of the Jaiker tribe; Kaffir chiefs; Buhkwujgenene, the Chippaway Chief; Burmese portraits, the Kandy Chief; inhabitants of the Line Islands, warriors of Western Australia, New Hebrides, and Samoa including King Potempolm and his Queen; a portrait of a 4'8 in. high bushman; natives of the Tonga, inhabitants of the Isle of Pines posed in the studio holding pineapples; several of Fijians including the King and Queen, Chief Taruase wearing a bone necklace and a grass skirt; mountaineers wearing loin cloths, hunters and musicians from Sierra Leone; Zulus in traditional dress, and a portrait of a Zulu woman carrying her child.
