Lot Essay

A large number of the images are from negatives by Beato and have Stillfried's numbering and/or titles in upper case in the negatives. Including portraits of women at their toilet, barbers, a postman, a 'betto', a tea woman, a buddhist priest, acrobats, women in travelling chairs, musicians; with village scenes, river views, street scenes, and a few architectural studies.
