Lot Essay

The brig Thomas, 211 tons, was built at Whitehaven in 1800 and originally traded out of that port to Ireland, probably as a collier. By 1807, she was running from London to Virginia but within a few years had changed to regular sailings to Canada out of Liverpool. She was still trading in the 1820's but disappears from Lloyd's Registers soon afterwards.
