FIRST EDITION of a posthumous work. Born in Antwerp in 1651, Arnold van Westerhout learned the elements of his art in his native country, but completed his education in Italy, and worked in Florence before establishing himself in Rome in 1700 where his career as engraver, painter and designer continued until his death in 1725.
