A needlework picture embroidered in coloured silks with a noble couple, the woman playing the lute, worked mainly in tent and rococo stitch, bordered with applied motifs to the ivory satin ground including a tulip, carnation, parrot, snail, rabbit, butteflies, stag, leopard and insects--24¾ x 19in. (62 x 48cm.), circa 1640-50, English, in glass mount, framed, some wear and repairs
