Danny Kaye and Sylvia Fine Kaye He danced, he sang, he charmed, he clowned - on stage, in films, on T.V. He's Hans Christian Anderson, Walter Mitty, The Kid from Brooklyn, The Court Jester, he's Danny Kaye. He flew jets matered Chinese cooking, owned a baseball team. He raised millions for musicians conducting orchestras delighting the world's children as Ambassador-at large for UNICEF. He accepted Oscar's, Peabodys, Emmys, the Kennedy centre honours, received France's top culinary honours and honarary membership in the American College of surgeons. Although his M.D. status was unofficial, his gift to touch and lighten lines with laughter is an eternal remedy. A classical pianist at age 8 who sold soup at Macy's during the depression, Sylvia Fine Kaye's talents as a lyricist, composer, writer and producer spanned many fields. Oscar nominated, Emmy and Peabody awarded, she wrote intricate and brilliant songs which Danny Kaye made famous. (Cole Porter asked her to write special lyrics for one of his songs). A musical maven, she taught the subject at Yale and the University of California, as well as produced, wrote and hosted three PBS specials called "Musical Comedy Tonight". Together they left a legacy of entertainment and philanthropy
