TWO ENGLISH DELFT POWDERED-MANGANESE GROUND PLATES
Circa 1739, blue 6 to one, blue crescent to the other, probably Bristol, possibly Wincanton
One with a coastal scene in blue with two ships sailing before a towered fortification and a man fishing at right, within an octagonal reserve, the border with four alternating hexagonal and fan-shaped reserves with floral sprigs and with Prince of Wales' feathers; the other similar, with a group of towers at left issuing a large forked pennant, slightly variant border and brown rim
