A GROUP OF FOUR HOOKED RUGS
American, late 19th/early 20th century
Comprising three rectangular and one circular cotton and wool hooked rugs; the first worked in a various grays and cream centering a mare and foal; the second worked in bright green, blue, brown, tan and cream centering a horse and buggy in a landscaped background; the third centering a brown horse head on a rust ground framed in a stylized cream-colored lozenge enclosed by a black border; the fourth worked in red, yellow, black, gray, cream and tan centering a stylized flower garland in repeating diamond border; together with a wool petit-point mat worked in various shades including green, brown and gray with a horse border
