A Ming gilt bronze rectangular plaque
decorated in relief with a central standing figure of Avalokitesvara on a lotus petal base, above a mythical caparisoned animal, flanked by two standing attendants on further lotus sprays, before trees in a mountainous landscape -- 11in. (27.9cm) high, the reverse with an incised inscription reading "The second year of Wanli (1574), 8th December commissioned a bronzed memorial of Boddhisatva Avalokitesvara", Wanli period, metal stand.
