Lot Essay

Whaiherehere was the original meeting house of Korinti, on the East bank of the Wanganui River, South of the Metatiwi in the North Island. This watercolour shows the interior with the famous wall carvings, many of which are now held in the Wanganui museum, after the meeeting house had been demolished.
