Lot Essay

The eldest son of Patsy, William Patrick Gallagher joined Celtic in 1938 from St. Athony's. He remained with the Parkhead club until 1949 when he joined the Royal Engineers. Never able to establish himself in the Celtic team, he made a total of thirty-nine first-team appearances for them, scoring five goals. In May 1949 he joined Falkirk and thereafter their were periods with Ayr United, St. Johnstone and Inverness Thistle.
