MALBY'S Terrestrial Globe Compiled from the GLOBES of the SOCIETY FOR THE DIFFUN. OF USEFUL KNOWLEDGE. Houghton St. London. March 1st. 1844 C. MALBY SC.
A 3-inch (7.6cm.) diameter terrestrial pocket globe, made up of twelve hand finished, colour printed gores, the prime meridian marked Meridian of Greenwich, ungraduated, the equatorial graduated in degrees and hours in roman numerals, clockwise and counterclockwise, the ecliptic graduated in days of the zodiac house and of the month, and showing the zodiac symbols and the names of the months, the continents coloured in outline, the Antarctic with partial coastline showing Enderby Ld., Ld. seen in 1833, South Victoria, Graham Ld. and Alexander L., and bearing the label MAGNETIC POLE hereabouts at about 155° East, the Arctic circle bearing the legend MAGNETIC POLE at about 98° West (varnish chipped, resulting in occasional slight discolouration of image), in turned mahogany case with domed lid (repaired cracks to case)
