Lot Essay

The inspiration for the design of this piece is taken from plate 82 of Designs for Household Furniture by T. Sheraton and published after his death in 1812. Called a dumb waiter it differs in that the gallery is not complete but open on two sides and the undertier has a spindle gallery and small drawers
