A Japanese suit of armour
with ribbed iron kabutoi, plain brown lacquered shikoro in five sections, the menpo in brown lacquered iron with neck guard in three sections, the body armour consisting of do in lacquered iron, hinged to one side, and kote with lacquered iron sections and chain mail, similarly consructed hai-date, the sode and sune-ate also of sectional brown lacquered iron construction laced together with woven blue silk cord and lined with silk brocade, the largest piece -- 31½in. (80cm) high, (lacquer loss, silk perished, old wear).
