A wax group of this subject, probably the one here, was sold in Paris auctions three times: the Albert Wolff collection, 6 April 1892, no. 131, and 29th November 1902, no. 97, and, from the collection of Louis du Breuil, 19th November 1927, no. 72.

The version in plaster was exhibited at the 1886 Salon in Paris, no. 3590.
