A GEORGE III FOUR-PIECE SILVER TEA-SERVICE
Maker's mark of Joseph Angell, London, 1817
Comprising tea kettle on stand (lamp cover lacking), teapot, two-handled open sugar basin and cream jug, each inverted pear shaped, on raised circular base chased with flowers and scrolls, the sides repouss and chased with lush flowering foliage and C scrolls, centering one side three children feeding one another fruit, the other with child flanked cartouche engraved with crest, all on matted ground, with everted floral openwork collar, the gilt-lined basin and cream jug with China-man mask applied handles, each pot with hinged decorated slightly raised cover topped by China-man finial, teapot with decorated short spout, leaf capped handle, the kettle with plain spout and elaborate foliate tab handle, on four footed, twice pinned, circular stand with openwork floral aprons between, with swing handle (lacking raffia), kettle on stand over handle--15in.
