The rectangular moulded top above two frieze drawers edged with egg-and-dart and carved with embracing cherubs flanked by scrolling foliage above two doors, carved with a scene of the Adoration of the Magi to the left and with a Nativity scene to the right, enclosing a plain interior to the left and a later fitted interior to the right with a shelf, above six drawers, the lower section with two doors carved with radiating geometric mouldings centred by scenes of the Annunciation, enclosing a plain interior with a shelf, flanked and divided by detached spirally-turned columns, on a moulded plinth and later bun feet, restorations

Lot Essay

One of the most characteristic pieces of Bruges baroque furniture is the small buffet, carved with vivid biblical scenes in the uppersection and with an intricate geometrically-carved base.
