AN ENAMELLED AND PEARL-SET ROYAL FRENCH GOLD PENDANT WITH CARNELIAN

The eight bulging gold ribs set with half-pearls and affixed to the base on stamped gold fleurs-de-lys alternating with half-pearl-set stems, enclosing an oval translucent red enamelled engine-turned gold "cushion", the sides of the base enamelled with alternating translucent green lozenges and translucent red ovolos on a matted ground, the oval base containing the carnelian seal, the matrix engraved with the coat-of-arms of the Bourbons surmounted by a Royal Crown and surrounded by the chains of the Royal French Orders of Saint-Michel and the Holy Spirit, the top of the crown surmounted by an orb with a cross above, and by a suspension ring -- 49 mm wide

Caroline, Duchess of Berry (1798-1870); her son, the Count of Chambord (1820-1883); his heir, Don Jaime of Bourbon (1870-1931); his sister and heir, Princess Beatrice of Bourbon (b. 1874), Princess Massimo and Duchess of Anticoli-Corrado; thence by family descent to the present owner.
