Rectangular box with baluster sides, the cover divided by white enamelled Gothic towers, the compartments in the centre and at the outsides inset with a rectangular gold plaque with arched top boldly chased with trophies of War on a frosted ground, flanking two taille d'épargne gold trees on black enamel grounds, the base centred by a rectangular reserve depicting gold zig-zags on a black enamelled ground, within a gold border, framed by a white wavy band, the convex sides with taille d'épargne stylised acanthus leaves on a black enamel ground divided by gold leaves on a white enamel ground, slightly raised gold thumbpiece
