Rectangular box with cut corners, the cover enamelled en plein with a scene depicting the Family of Darius before Alexander the Great, within a border of translucent blue enamelled paillon flowers twisted with seed-pearl set bands, the base enamelled with a rectangular reserve painted with two playful putti within clouds, surrounded by translucent blue enamelled paillons forming a garland of flowers on a dark-blue enamelled engine-turned gold ground, the sides identically enamelled, the corners enamelled en taille d'épargne with panels depicting birds on an opaque lavender blue ground
