A Swiss enamelled gold Snuff-Box

Rectangular box with canted corners, the cover enamelled with a grisaille miniature depicting Eurystheus, King of Tiryns, sending Hercules to obtain for his daughter the girdle of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, bordered by a frieze of engraved ovolos alternating with light-blue enamelled rectangles, the sides and base similarly framed, the four side panels and base enamelled on a wavy sunburst guilloché ground with a blue scalework pattern enclosing dark-blue lozenges on a black background, the base corners with blue enamelled and gold lotus flowers, those of the cover with a flowerhead within an horizontal lozenge (cover chipped)
