maker's mark "IA" or "LA" in a vertical lozenge, with the "petite Garantie" for the French Departments 1809-1819 and the "récense" for the South-East Division 1819-1838
Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover, sides and base decorated with panels of engine-turning, those on the cover and base surrounded by bands of trailing foliage and flowers on a matted ground, the cover centred by an oval reserve chased with an urn containing flowers and hung with swags on a frosted ground, set with red stones, the side corners chased with floral rosettes
