by Pierre-Innocent Zurich, marked, Paris, 1783/1784, with the charge and discharge marks of Henry Clavel
Oval gold box, the cover and base engraved with concentrically elliptical engine-turning scattered with stamped pellets and centred by starry rosettes, the sides engine-turned with similarly scattered reeding, the cover, base and sides framed by ropework on frosted gold bands, cover and base with plain gold borders, the inside of the cover engraved with the provenance of the box
