Geneva, circa 1800, marked with two rosettes reminiscent of the charge mark of Julien Alaterre
Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover inset with a rectangular enamel plaque painted with the profile busts of a bearded Gentleman and a Lady en brochette simulating marble busts on a blue ground, within a ribbon-twist border, the left and right hand sides of the lid chased with trailing foliage on a matted ground, the four side panels and base engraved with engine-turned horizontal reeding, the base furthermore decorated with two interlaced engine-turned circles containing a circular gold reserve chased with a flower vase on a sablé ground
