A SAXON GILT-METAL MOUNTED PORCELAIN SNUFF-BOX
Meissen, circa 1750
Oval box shaped as a basket, the outside moulded all over with an ozier pattern, the inside of the cover painted in purple camaïeu with a Kauffartheÿÿ scene within a gold-bordered cartouche on a painted gold ground with lozenges enclosing white quatrefoils, the gilt metal mounts with slightly raised wavy thumbpiece
