Rectangular box, the cover bordered by a blue enamel band and centred by an octagonal portrait miniature of a young Lady wearing a white lace cap, within black enamelled gold mount, on a matted gold ground engraved with four shell spandrels, flanked by two vertical rectangular reserves bordered with laurel garlands and set with oblong enamel plaques painted in grisaille with allegories of Abundance and Fame against a translucent red background, set on rectangular blue enamel panels simulating lapis-lazuli, the four side panels and base enamelled in translucent red on an engine-turned vermiculé ground within borders of black and blue enamelled squares
