Worked in polychrome wools and silks, on an ivory silk ground, with a central rectangular scene of a throned king with crown, orb and sceptre, below a draped canopy, with a general and a gentleman in attendance, two ladies behind the throne, a castle in the distance, a mermaid, flowers, birds and a butterfly, in a rectangular border with vases of flowers, a figure at each top corner, birds and animals, in a later concave-moulded and beaded giltwood frame
