MARK OF PETER, ANN AND WILLIAM BATEMAN, LONDON, 1800
With reeded, petalled borders, the inside bright-engraved with a band of rushes and paterae, reeded handle, the underside of the base engraved with William Ingham, to Anthy & Alice Surtees -- 4½ in. (36.9 cm.) long; 28 oz. (868 gr.)

Presented to Anthony Surtees of Hamsterley Hall and his wife Alice (née Blackett, 1781-1827) on the occasion of their 1801 wedding.

Eleanor Surtees, wife of John Vereker, 5th Viscount Gort and by descent to the current owner.
