Decorated in iron-red, yellow, blue and black enamels, the characterful animals seated on treestump bases decorated in a dark brown glaze

For a similar pair in the China Summer Palace, Drottingholm, in the collection of the King of Sweden see R. Soame Jenyns, Transactions of the Oriental Ceramics Society, (1937-1938), vol.15, pl.10a.
