
Supplementary Hong Kong Privacy Notice
1. This Supplementary Notice applies to consumers and site users in Hong Kong which supplements and should be read together with the global privacy notice of Christie’s (the “Privacy Notice”) (here). Unless otherwise stated, we shall adopt the same definitions and abbreviations used in the Privacy Notice.
2. When you make a request to us or choose to access our services, we may require you to provide your personal data in some cases this will be indicated as a mandatory requirement (such as being marked with a red asterisk). Except for data which are automatically collected by us when you telephone bid, call our client service, visit our premises or our website or attend a digital event (see Section 2 of our Privacy Notice for details), for personal data s that is not indicated as mandatory, you may decide whether or not to provide it to us. If you decide not to submit certain information, some of your experiences with us may be affected and we may not be able offer you all or some of our services in full.
3. In relation to our use and/or transfer of personal data for direct marketing purposes in Hong Kong, subject to your consent, we may use your personal data to send you direct marketing communications via, including without limitation, direct-mails, emails, telephone calls, SMS, push notifications, in-app messages and/or other technologies (such as geo-location technology) for our mobile application(s) on your mobile device(s) or via any other online channels or any other media now known or available in the future (“Modes of Communications”), containing news, offers, promotions, events to be offered by any of the Christie’s group of companies, in relation to the following classes of products and services: auctioning, selling, consignment, valuation, storage, shipping, transportation, financing, loan, loan referral, catalogue subscription, restoration, expert appraisal and/or due diligence of any art objects, antiques, luxury or collection items such as watches, jewellery, handbags & accessories, wine & spirits, furniture, NFTs or other digital art collections, as well as education and training in relation to any art objects, antiques, luxury or collection items (collectively, the “our Goods and Services”).
4. As mentioned under Section 4 of our Privacy Notice, we may also share and transfer your personal data with any of the Christie’s group of companies for the intended purposes for which your data is collected. The Christie’s group of companies is detailed here. They may also use your personal data to communicate with you about news, offers, promotions and/or events in relation to any of our Goods and Services by any of the Modes of Communications.
5. We may transfer your personal data to the Christie’s group of companies for direct marketing purposes. You may opt-out from receiving marketing communications at any time free of charge by following the unsubscribe link in any of our messages or contacting the Client Service team.
