Spectres Visibles traces the richness of the artistic landscape of the Maghreb. The exhibition highlights the vibrant cultural scene through a selection of works from internationally acclaimed modern and contemporary artists that either come from the region or have formed connections to it.
The common thread linking the works of these artists is the desire to free their artistic gestures from the impositions of established artistic forms in order to formulate a renewed language that acknowledges the Maghreb region and its culture. Each one of these artists can be seen as a cultural actor whose work acknowledges the cultural and socio-political dynamics of the region. Their work, therefore, reflects on the history and traditions of the region to bring forth a renewed approach to the artistic practice of the Maghreb and its identity.
The artists featured in the exhibition include renowned modern names such as Ahmed Cherkaoui, Mohamed Melehi, Hatem El Mekki and Abdallah Benanteur, as well as contemporary artists such as Nidhal Chamekh, M'barek Bouhchichi, Nadia Kaabi-Linke and Amina Agueznay.

L’exposition-vente Spectres Visibles retrace la richesse de la création artistique des pays d’Afrique du Nord. A travers le travail d’une sélection d’artistes modernes et contemporains à la renommée internationale, provenant ou liés par ailleurs à cette région, l’exposition met en avant sa vibrante scène culturelle.
Point commun dans l’œuvre de ces artistes : l’affranchissement du geste créatif des formes plastiques imposées, au profit d’un langage artistique renouvelé et adapté au territoire et à sa culture. Acteurs culturels bien ancrés dans leurs sociétés, ces artistes ont été confrontés aux dynamiques politiques complexes et portent une œuvre vectrice de traditions tout en développant un regard nouveau sur la pratique artistique, et leur identité.
Parmi les artistes présentés dans l’exposition : des artistes modernes, tels Ahmed Cherkaoui, Mohamed Melehi, Hatem El Mekki, Abdallah Benanteur ainsi que des artistes contemporains comme, Nidhal Chamekh, M’barek Bouhchichi, Nadia Kaabi-Linke et Amina Agueznay.
