Ensayo del lote

In commenting on his beach scenes, which were particularly popular during the 1930s, Flint said that they were 'technically the most difficult of all forms of water-colour painting and the purest...I might be asked why and the answer would be that these subjects are essentially the most delicate, direct and subtle of all' (R. Lewis and K. Gardner, Sir William Russell Flint, R.A., P.R.W.S. 1880-1969, London, 1988, p. 60).
