Ensayo del lote

The present timepiece is distinguished by its highly attractive grey dial enlivened by vivid red accents, a configuration affectionately nicknamed the ‘Racing dial’ by collectors. Its sporting aesthetic is particularly fitting for the Daytona, with the contrasting red details evoking the colours and atmosphere of the legendary Daytona International Speedway.

Reference 116509
Introduced at Baselworld in 2004, reference 116509 marked an important evolution in the history of the Cosmograph Daytona as the first version crafted entirely in 18k white gold and fitted with a matching white gold bracelet. Beneath its precious-metal exterior beats Rolex’s fully in-house calibre 4130, introduced to the Daytona collection in 2000. Designed with fewer components than its predecessor, the movement offered enhanced reliability, simplified servicing and an increased power reserve of approximately 72 hours, compared with around 54 hours for the preceding Zenith-based calibre.
