A discussion of two divergent strands of watch collecting - vintage timepieces and modern independent watchmaking - that have emerged as two of the most popular genres in the region.

Speaker Biography :
Mr. Su Jia Xian is a watch collector and journalist based in Singapore. He contributes extensively to publications across Asia. In addition, he consults for the watch industry and financial institutions, as well as advises important watch collectors in the region.
Mr. Sam Hines was appointed Senior Vice President and Head of Watches for Christie's Asia, as well as International Co-Head of Watches and Wristwatches in September 2011. With Sam's international insight, scholarship and business acumen have strengthened Christie's position as the market leader in Asia's rapidly growing watch collectors’ market. Sam works closely with John Reardon, the other International Co-Head of Watches and Wristwatches, Christie's, on sourcing and promoting important collections. Sam also focuses his efforts on expanding Christie’s reputation of international expertise in Asia by consigning the finest horological creations available, and by offering the highest level of service to Christie’s Asia-based collectors.
Mr. Ong Ban is the Chief Executive Officer of Sincere Fine Watches, one of the leading watch retailers in South-East Asia. His interest in watches is also personal, having been a watch collector well before he joined Sincere in 1996.
Mr. Audric Haryadi is a businessman who lives in both Jakarta and Singapore, he is also a watch enthusiast whose collecting history has covered an eclectic span of timepieces, ranging bespoke commissions from independent watchmakers to tropical dial vintage Rolex sports watches.
