I am very pleased to be presenting 2014’s Christie’s Staff Summer Exhibition. This year’s show, I hope you will agree, continues to demonstrate the significant artistic talent of our colleagues. It is a remarkable thing for any artist to offer their work for view on the walls of the great galleries at Christie’s King Street. None know that better than the artists in the following pages, who work tirelessly to bring the world’s greatest works of art to market time after time. It is therefore so fitting that for a short time in the summer we have a moment to celebrate the lesser known artists working around us every day.

It is therefore all the more appropriate that our charity this year continues this theme of shared passion. Our artists will donate at least 10% of the proceeds of each sale to support the Sophie Trevelyan Thomas Scholarship Award at The Courtauld Institute of Art, whose many alumni we are very fortunate to have welcomed here as Christie’s employees. We are proud to support the nurturing of talent in the wonderful art world we all live in, and hope very much that one day they too will hang their work upon the walls of future Staff Summer Exhibitions.
